A3.4 In line with international and national policies on gender equality, the REDD+ Strategy, programs and forestry plans integrate key provisions for gender equality, such as equal pay.
DFOs indicated that all CFUGs have actions or provisions related to gender (e.g. requiring female representation, equal pay, access for female-headed households, women's groups. etc).
Out of 40 division forest office (DFOs) in the three provinces, 34 reported on these verifiers. DFO Mustang reported zero for total CFUGs and Total CFUGS that include gender equality provisions.
This indicator was verified through the count of number of community forest user groups along with the number of CFUGs reporting gender equality through equal pay.
While every DFO reported equal numbers in both the verifiers, Division Forest Office, Makawanpur (Rapti division) indicated in a percentage range for the provisions for gender equality such as equal pay.
DFOs: Ramechhap, Nawalparasi (Bardaghar-Susta East), Lalitpur, Gulmi and Bardiya indicated less numbers in verifier for provisions for gender equality, such as equal pay.
7 DFOs: Bardiya Gulmi, Latipur, Makawanpur, Nawalparasi (Bardaghar-Susta East), Ramechhap and Syangja have reported lesser CFUGs with gender equality provisions with respect to the total CFUGs in districts. All others have shown that all CFUGs in the districts have gender equality provisions.
